When the unexpected happens, you need someone you can trust to keep your best interest at heart. Markham Dental Clinic wants to be that trusted source of emergency dental care for you. We will always do our best to accommodate emergency appointments, getting you in as soon as possible and only recommending the treatments that are best for you.
Call us now to ask about emergency appointments.
The first thing you need to do is rinse your mouth with warm water, preferably salt water if possible. Gently apply gauze to the tooth to soak up any blood, and avoid running your tongue across the edge of the tooth. Then, it’s time to call your dentist for an emergency appointment. In the meantime, you can hold an ice pack to your lips or cheek over the tooth to help relieve pain and keep the swelling down.
Your dentist may be able to reattach the tooth if you follow the right steps. First, you’ll need to pick up the tooth by the crown (not the root) and rinse it with milk. If you can, try to push the tooth back into its socket. If not, put the tooth in a container of milk or coconut water, and see your dentist immediately.
We would love to meet you at our Unionville office. We’re located on Highway 7, right next to the Shopper’s Drug Mart.
